Why now? Why leaders? Why Westerners?
Now, more than ever before, social, civil, and religious leaders from the West need to understand global citizenship due to the unprecedented level of global interconnectedness and interdependence that defines our era. Issues such as climate change, migration, economic inequality, and pandemics transcend national borders. This requires collaborative and globally-minded solutions. By embracing global citizenship, Western leaders can foster greater cultural understanding, promote social and environmental justice, and build more inclusive and resilient communities. Understanding global citizenship is crucial for addressing the complex challenges of our time, ensuring that local actions contribute positively to global well-being, and fostering a world where cooperation and mutual respect prevail.
