What is Wild of the Called?

Wild of the Called is a virtual retreat (hybrid learning experience) for those who are ready to re-engage, rediscover, and rekindle that fire deep within for calling and vocation.
Wild of the Called is a virtual retreat for those who are ready to re-engage, rediscover, and rekindle that fire deep within. Whether you are a minister, a chaplain, an educator, a seminarian, a missioner, ordained but not practicing, a nonprofit leader, or somewhere in between, Wild of the Called is a place for those who are ready to excavate spirit and give oxygen to the flame of their true calling.

For some, Wild of the Called will look like personal or spiritual self development. For others, Wild of the Called will mean finally breathing life into that idea that you have held and nurtured for years. For still others, Wild of the Called could mean vocational change and transition.

Wherever you are, whatever is burning to get out and into the world, Wild of the Called is for you.

Asynchronous Online Learning

The core curriculum consists of 5 sessions delivered asynchronously in course format. This delivery method allows participants to engage the content on a state-of-the-art platform on their own time.

Synchronous Live Zoom Workshops

Using Zoom, the group will gather 4 out of the 5 nights of the retreat to share reflections and present projects for group feedback. Sessions will occur at 7pm ET and are required to receive a CEU certificate.

Vision Projects and Assignments

During live Zoom workshops, participants will have the opportunity to share their vision projects and discernment assignments. The facilitator and group will provide helpful feedback wherever possible.

Recommended Readings

In addition to a new community of support, who we fondly call "wildlings" and new engaging material to ponder, participants will learn about numerous books and authors for further study in calling.
A thriving community of continued support and ENCOURAGEMENT

What "Wildlings" are Saying:

"When I arrived at Wild of the Called, I was seeking clarity. I was exhausted and on the edge of burnout. But with the brilliant facilitation and buy-in of the pack, I left with a new sense of myself and a renewed vision for bringing my full self to all that I do."
rev. katie schlimmer callaway, Baptist Pastor
"The Wild of the Called Retreat was transformative. I have a pretty good handle on my gifts and strengths, but had not thought about what is blocking me from sharing those gifts. Our group bonded quickly and we are still in contact/community. This retreat is for clergy and non-clergy. Cannot recommend highly enough!"
rev. becky erb strang, UCC Pastor
"I attended Wild of the Called because I know that I have a fire in me, but I’ve been struggling with doubt and desire to keep pushing. The retreat helped re-stoke that flame AND BONUS I've got a new pack of "Wildings" to share with and encourage each other."
