Course overview
The holidays usually represent a fun, festive time of year. But the holidays are not a celebratory time for all. This course seeks to answer the pivotal question: How do we provide care to those experiencing the holiday blues? This course will specifically examine how spiritual care practitioners provide spiritual care to persons experiencing household, community, and environmental trauma.

5 Weeks of Learning
This course begins with a live session on October 30, 2023 and ends on December 8, 2023.

Learning Objectives:
As a result of this online, hybrid learning experience:

Students will learn what are household, community and environmental traumas and how these traumas are triggered during the holidays.

Students will learn chaplaincy tools and spiritual care strategies for caring for people experiencing these various types of traumas especially during the holidays.

Students will learn specific steps on how to serve as public witness or public theologians on issues of trauma.
